The holiday season marks the continuation of an exciting college football tradition in New York City, as teams from the Atlantic Coast and Big Ten conferences clash in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl.
The Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl will pit schools representing the Big Ten Conference and the Atlantic Coast Conference against each other. Established in 2010, this bowl game has featured some of the most memorable moments in recent college football history. Known as “New York’s Bowl Game,” it is played at the world-renowned Yankee Stadium, which is home to the New York Yankees, New York City Football Club and many other sporting, cultural and business events.
This year’s game will be nationally televised by ESPN, which has also secured national and local radio rights for ESPN Radio.
For up-to-the-moment information regarding the game, fans are encouraged to visit www.pinstripebowl.com, the official website of the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl, and follow the Bowl game’s official Twitter and Instagram accounts – @PinstripeBowl.
New York in the winter makes the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl a special and unique event. The game, which will be played for the 12th time this year, always manages to produce drama – and star power. Last year, University of Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa passed for two touchdowns and 265 yards, and ran for another 42 en route to MVP honors in Maryland’s 54-10 defeat over Virginia Tech University. With nearly 30,000 fans in attendance and millions more watching at home, the bowl game was another huge success.
The festivities will begin days earlier with players, coaches, and university staff taking part in a variety of events in the week leading up to the game, showcasing their respective universities to the New York metropolitan area. Special events, promotions, and community outreach will take place throughout New York City during the week of the bowl game to once again create an unforgettable experience for fans, families, players and staff of the two teams.
The Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl game further continues the rich tradition of football at Yankee Stadium, which has hosted historic contests such as “The Greatest Game Ever Played” between the Giants and Colts in 1958, and Army vs. Notre Dame in 1928, remembered for the “Win One for the Gipper” halftime speech to the Notre Dame players, delivered by Knute Rockne.
With the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl as the final event of the year, it marks yet another example of how Yankee Stadium is home to a history of all kinds – transcending sports, culture, and geography.
